Hands-on review: ZVEX Effects Fuzz Probe

I'm in a country band right now and have been for the last 2 years. Been playing all my life. Like country and rock.

Paid about $1200 at a local guitar shop. I wanted a new bass and was getting tired of my old Fender P. I'll keep that one in the closet for a while as I get myself up to speed on this new Epi Thunderbird.

* Mahogany wings * Gotoh tuners * Rosewood fingerboard * 2-frets * One-piece thru body mahogany neck * 34" scale * 1-1/2" bone nut * 20 frets * Dual USA humbuckers * 2 volume, 1 tone controls * Nickel hardware * hardshell case

It's been about 6 months that I've owned the bass and so far, no problems or issues. Haven't found anything that I don't like. Perhaps the fact that it is pretty expensive - especially for an Epiphone.

Quality and construction are pretty good. The pickups are supposedly made in the USA but the body and neck are probably made overseas. I think that's how Epiphone basses are manufactured. I think only Gibson guitars and basses are actually made in the US.

Overall, I love it. Is it worth the money, maybe not, but oh well. It certainly plays and sounds like a more expensive bass so to me it was a good purchase.
